In its sixth edition, Paraty em Foco – Fnac International Festival of Photography brings together national and international photographers to 15 interviews, round tables and meetings, 22 workshops, 11 exhibitions; and nights with multimedia sessions that occupy the major cultural venues in Paraty from 15 to 19 September (Wednesday to Sunday). Among the confirmed names are the Argentine artist Alejandro Chaskielberg, one of 30 new talents in photography by American magazine PDN; Mexican Alfredo de Stefano, with more than 90 exhibitions worldwide, the Italian Olivo Barbieri and Frenchman Georges Rousse, one of the most exciting contemporary artists, which reframes the picture to use abandoned spaces to create ephemeral works of art. For the first time, Rousse will carry out a project in Brazil, during the Festival. Chaskielberg and Stéfano also command workshops.

Other highlight of Paraty em Foco are Maureen Bissiliat, Brazilian photographer from England who will be honored on an interview and exhibition at the Gallery Zoom; Dutchs Kadir Van Lohuizen and Claudia Hinterseer, NOOR Agency, which shows the consequences of human action on the planet in nine tests of photographers of the agency; the collective Portuguese Kameraphoto will submit projects like State of Affairs, in which each of the 13 participating photographers follows a week in the journal of a country; the trendy fashion photographer Bob Wolfenson, who will speak of his latest original work, the surprising test Seizures, with images of objects seized by police. Also participating in the Festival other major photographers from several states of Brazil, as Anderson Schneider (DF), Jonne Roriz (SP), Francilins (MG), André Vieira (RJ), Cris Bierrenbach (SP) and Marcelo Zocchio (SP).
In closing, the artists John Wainer, Dirceu Maués and Egberto Nogueira are collectives Garapa and Gallery Experience.

The guests this year are Maureen Bisilliat (Brazil), Cris Bierrenbach (Brazil), NOOR (Photo Agency in the Netherlands) and Georges Rousse (France). Both Cris Bierrenbach Georges Rousse as they develop their exhibitions during the festival, following the proposed occupation of spaces.

Cris will mount the Forgotten photographic installation in the cemetery just behind the Capelinha Nossa Senhora das Dores. The work is an outgrowth of the experience of the photographer in the earthquake that devastated parts of Haiti.
The French artist Georges Rousse arrives in Paraty ten days before the start of opening, to build a facility to be presented in the Historic Center of Paraty, in the old Mercadinho do Cais. The space was turned off and Rousse will going to interfere architectural and painterly. At the end of this process, the place will be photographed with a large-format camera and the result will be exhibited during the event. Rousse is guest of honor and will be interviewed on the opening of the Festival. This is the first time that the artist comes to Brazil to mount an intervention, but his works have been exhibited here last year at the expo “The invention of the world”, in Itaú Cultural.

Mauren Bisilliat, which this year had his works displayed in a monumental exhibition in Sao Paulo (Juan Esteves spoke about the subject), brightens the programming of the PEF. Zoom In Gallery, she presents Black Skin.

The Dutch agency NOOR brings the series Consequences, at Tenda da Matriz. The series is part of a project begun in 2009, which shows the consequences of climate change on the planet. The agency is comprised of photographers around the world.
